Ugly sweaters in the topic for this week's 52 week project and I think a lot of us are really unsure how to approach this week. The topics are meant to challenge us and for those photographers who are experiencing summer right now, I'm sure this one is a challenge. I at least am in the midst of winter although yesterday it was 72 degrees here. 

Relaxing is the topic of our 52 week dog photography project and I am not lying when I say, I literally just picked up a calendar and looked to clarify that this is in fact week 50. It is! Wow, can someone please slow down the clock? Thinking about how quickly time goes by is anything but relaxing to me.

The theme for this week is architectural. Most of my photo sessions don't really include any architectural elements. Most of my sessions are at parks. Most don't have a lot of architectural elements or if they do, it's a bridge. If I'm going to write a blog about this topic and take photos this week using architectural elements, that was going to require some planning.

Emotion is the topic of the dog photography 52 week project for week 48 and emotion is the reason why I got into dog photography. In August of 2014 my black lab Buddy had a health scare. I was out of town and my husband came home to find him disoriented and bleeding from his nose. He rushed him to the emergency vet and they couldn't confirm but suspected cancer.

Bird's eye view is the topic for week 47 of our pet photography 52 week project. To pull this off, I knew I needed to get up high and be looking down on the dog I'm photographing. When you're photographing an already tall dog with pointy ears like a german shepherd, you really need to get up high! 

Water is the topic for our Dog Photography 52 Week Project this week and can I just say "yipee!" Water as our topic makes me happy because I just spent 15 days on the California coast and I have LOADS of photos with the Pacific Ocean in the background. If I hadn't spent 15 days in CA, this theme would've been a little more challenging to me. My apologies to those of you who don't have an ample supply of water to use as your backdrop regularly. I don't either and I am completely jealous of anyone who does.
