Have you ever noticed how photographers like me blur out the background in their photos? If you look through the gallery photos on my page or on my Instagram page, you’ll notice most of the backgrounds are pretty blurry.

That’s intentional. I do it so that my subject stands out.

That blurry part of the photo actually has a name. It’s called “bokeh.”

I participate from time to time in a photography blog circle. Photographers from around the world participate. We are given a topic each week and we are to take photos about the subject and then write a blog about it. Photographing happy dogs is one of my favorite parts of my job. How do I capture photos of dogs looking happy? It's not always as easy as it sounds.

Dogs and sunflowers fields are always a good idea. Get on the list to have your dog's photo taken here. There will be limited opportunities for dog and sunflower sessions next July 2019! The flowers only last a few weeks and I'll book up fast.

I like to use architectural elements in my images when I'm photographing dogs. A lot of times I am photographing in parks so I don't have a lot of architectural elements to use but when I'm traveling, I always look to incorporate the city skyline in my photos when possible.
