Why are Toe Beans so Cute?

Why are Toe Beans so Cute?

I never even knew they were called toe beans until I posted the photo at the top of the page on my Instagram back in 2019 with the caption: I can’t even. Someone commented about these cute toe beans and that’s how I learned that they actually have a name. The photo has almost 400 likes (for my account, that’s a lot.)

Detail shots are some of my favorite types of images. At my photo sessions, I can get a lot of candid toe bean photos when dogs are running and playing. Here are some that I’ve taken recently.

Puppy Toe Beans
I mean, who doesn’t think puppy toe beans are cute? This is 6 week old bernese mountain dog puppy Quinn. I got connected to a few berner breeder a few years ago and have been privileged to photo several bernese litters. The puppies are well-bred and I fully support breeders who are striving to produce healthy, stable puppies that meet their breed standards. I love getting a glimpse of these toe beans coming towards me and when combined with flying puppy ears: win win.

Candid Action Photos from BARKography Photo Shoots
What’s better than a good roll in the grass? Below is literally one of the first things 9 year old Bodhi did at his photo shoot. I’m there to capture his personality so I made sure I took photos of this moment. His parents weren’t surprised at all that he did this and they loved this photo.

Some dogs fly through the air when they run. I can usually get toe bean photos when that happens.

Christmas Tree Farm Photos
These photos are from a repeat client and I look forward to their holiday photo session every year. This is my dog trainer friend’s dogs. She has 6 dogs and they can all be trusted off leash. So after they have posed perfectly for their Christmas card photo, we let them play.

Toe beans running towards me or away always make me happy! I’m not always trying to get toe bean photos but I love it when it happens.

I also included her favorite family photo. The fact that she loved this photo (the 4th one below) and included it on her Christmas card might explain why we are friends. LOL

I also included the dogs posing because I figured you’d want to see it. Was I right?

So why are toe beans so cute? They’re cute because they make us happy.

Seeing toe bean photos elicits a positive response in our brains that make us feel good. As a photographer, being able to provide that feeling is powerful and amazing. It’s my gift to my clients.

I think toe beans are adorable. If I’m photographing your dog and I capture photos of your dog’s toe beans, I can guarantee you they’ll make it in the gallery.

How do you feel about toe beans? Yay or nay? I am team yay for sure!
