My Top 10 Reasons Why I Love Being a Pet Photographer
Here are my top 10 reasons why I love being a pet photographer.
My job means that I get to meet dogs and sometimes cats and horses all the time. All kinds of pets: little, big, young, old. I love them all.
People who hire me love their pets. Getting to see that love makes my heart smile.
I have the honor of creating memories for dog moms and dads that will last a lifetime. Knowing that my images will grace the homes of my clients is truly an honor.
My photography knowledge means that I will have professional photos of my own dogs. Photos that I will treasure forever.
I have traveled the world because of my dog photography business. I’ve attend photography workshops around in Spain, Costa Rica and Iceland. I’ve attended several in the US too.
Meeting other like-minded dog lovers has changed my life. Many of these kindred souls have become good friends.
Photography feeds the creative part of my soul. When I was younger I didn’t even know I had a creative side. I’m not sure I can put into words the feeling I get when I look at a photo I’ve taken that I’m proud of but it feels pretty amazing. Maybe even more so because sometimes I am still surprised that I’m actually doing this.
My pet photography job means that I get to explore my own city. I’ve been to places I never would’ve known existed because of my job.
I’ve visited places around the world because of my pet photography job. Audrey Ricks of Sunsets Unleashed and I travel around the US and Canada photographing dogs. Stay tuned for our 2024 travel adventure announcements. I am on a mission to go to places I’ve never been but are on my bucket list.
Another reason why I love being a pet photographer is that I get to work from home. I get to be my own boss. As I’m writing this now, I have some tunes playing and I’m drinking a cup of coffee. The Christmas tree is lit beside me. As much as I love traveling, I also love being in my cozy home with my hubby Don and our dogs Molly and Jeff.
Thank you to every single person who has helped me along this journey to becoming a pet photographer. I am grateful to each of you. I am beyond blessed.
