This week the topic is “About the Photographer” so here is a little bit about me. I hired a photographer last year to photograph Moose and me. That’s something I want to do again this year. While I prefer to take the photos, I do think it’s important for me to have photos with my dogs. Practice what I preach, right? :)

I love colorful photos. In the winter when the trees are looking a little sad and the flowers are hibernating, I’ve discovered an awesome way to incorporate color into my photos. I use Charlotte’s amazing selection of hand painted murals as my backdrop.

There are so many to discover and the fun thing is, more are painted all the time.

Here is my attempt at choosing my most favorite photos from 2018. I attempted to create my #bestnine. I ended up with 18!

Have you ever noticed how photographers like me blur out the background in their photos? If you look through the gallery photos on my page or on my Instagram page, you’ll notice most of the backgrounds are pretty blurry.

That’s intentional. I do it so that my subject stands out.

That blurry part of the photo actually has a name. It’s called “bokeh.”

Would it surprise if I said most of the dogs pictures on my site were on leash? And the leashes were being held by the owner or a photography assistant?
