Snow Destination Recommendations

This traveling dog photographer needs snow destination recommendations.

I love to travel. I love the look of photos taken in the snow and photographing dogs in the snow is fun. I have done it before but it’s been a long time because it doesn’t snow with any regularity in Charlotte NC.

AND I don’t drive in the snow. The thought terrifies me. I also have a rear wheel drive car that I don’t want to crash.

I attended a workshop in Breckenridge Colorado in 2017 in May and it snowed over a foot while we were there. It was awesome.

We were in a beautiful house. We had dog models lined up to photograph and we had a driver that wasn’t me.

This was the last time I photographed dogs in a lot of snow. But in 2017 I was newbie photographer. I would love to try this again now.

Here’s my “pie in the sky” wish list:

  1. Take a 2-3 days trip from Charlotte. It needs to be somewhere I can easily fly into and not spend all day flying and getting to my destination.

  2. Stay in a town that is covered in snow where I can walk to get food. Banff and Breckenridge come to mind but they aren’t close enough to me to get to easily. Both are probably pretty booked up well in advance too. So there is that issue too.

  3. Meet up with a local photographer or a local dog owner…. who will pick me up for a photo shoot or 2.

Like I said, this is my pie in the sky wishlist.

The rest of the time, I am content to enjoy the view. I love solo traveling or meeting up with friends when I travel.

If you have any snow destination recommendations for me I’d love to hear them.
