How This Dog Walker Became a Dog Photographer
Here’s how after working for 20 years in corporate America, I took a leap of faith and became an entrepreneur. I started my own dog walking business See Spot Run Charlotte in 2009 and in 2016, I officially launched my dog photography company BARKography.
Here’s my story.
Australian Shepherd Available for Adoption in Charlotte NC
Where are all of the Australian Shepherd lovers?
This gorgeous, smiling almost 4 year old Australian Shepherd is available for adoption through the North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue.
I Love This Dog
Happy Valentine’s Day from my guy Moose. For those who don’t know him, he’s my 13 year old chocolate lab that we rescued when he was 7.
Why photos are so important to us
I took this photo in 1996….. 20 years later I became a photographer. The photo is blurry but it’s one of the best ones I have of this dog that still has my heart.
For those who don’t know me, I’ve had one puppy in my adult life. Back in May 1996, I answered an ad in the newspaper for a litter of weimaraner / labrador puppies. I was in my early 30s and this was WAY before I was a photographer.
Dogs will be Dogs
Dogs will be dogs. I actually want them to be dogs at our photo shoot. I want them to be themselves. That’s the point, really.
When a dog mom or dog dad schedules a photo shoot, my goal is to capture the dog’s personality. Whatever that is.
Photographing White Dogs
Occasionally you’ll see that I participate in a blog circle with other dog photographers from around the world. Each week we are given a topic to blog about and show photos and this week the topic is “white.” At the end of each post is a link to another dog photographer. If you click that link, you’ll go through the blog circle and get to see other photographer’s cute dog photos.
