I love senior dogs and recently I got to photograph a 12 year old chocolate lab named Diesel. A couple of weeks ago, he had a health scare and his dad wanted to make sure he had professional, loving photos of his beloved dog.

This is my dog Moose and his adoption story.

He joined our family in October of 2014. I had purchased my first Nikon two months before he came to live with us. He’s been my go to model on this entire photography journey.

Moose is now retired from professional dog modeling because of his age and health issues.

Things happen for a reason… I truly believe that.

I rarely go uptown but I decided to attend the CLT Shout event and I took my camera. While walking around, I spotted an old dog. Those of you who know me, know I have a really soft spot for the old ones.

Photographing happy dogs is one of my favorite parts of my job. How do I capture photos of dogs looking happy? It's not always as easy as it sounds.
