Fido Fest in Charlotte NC

Fido Fest on the Green at the Metropolitan took place over the weekend. Just outside of uptown, on a beautiful albeit warm September day, we finally had our covid postponed event and it was worth the wait!

This free pet friendly event was a big hit. I saw all kinds of dogs from tiny yorkies to gigantic great danes.

I was there to take photos of the dogs and I gave all of the dog moms and dog dads instructions on how they can download their free photos. The Metropolitan graciously paid me to be there so that pet parents could have professional photos of their dogs taken.

You can check out all of the photos from there event here: Fido Fest 2021 Photos Just enter your email address and you’ll be able to see the photos. This gallery will be available for viewing until Sept 30 then it will close but you can still see some of the photos from the event if you keep reading.

Several rescue groups were in attendance. Great Dane Friends of Ruff Life had two dogs available for adoption at the event and there were a couple of danes that had been adopted from the group in attendance.

As you can imagine, a crowd gathered around as their owners were trying to get these two to pose side by side so I could take a photo.

South Charlotte Dog Rescue was at the event too and their volunteers and foster parents brought a lot of dogs. There was a weimaraner, a few pit mixes and puppies….. lots of puppies. The puppies were a big hit with all the kiddos. They got lots of attention throughout the afternoon.

There was a DJ who played great music. Sycamore Brewery was there as well as face painting and a balloon artist.

Here is a sample of a few of the other dogs I met.

I’m excited for Fido Fest 2022!
