Dog CLT - a new website about loving and living with dogs in Charlotte NC

Have you heard of Dog CLT? If you love dogs, this site is for you! Gretchen, dog mom of Chester manages the page.

I was contacted by her to offer some tips about photographing dogs. There is some great advice from some of Charlotte’s local dog photographers on her blog. I was honored to be included among them.

Imagine my surprise when one of my favorite muses was in the Meet My Dog series, a regular feature on Dog CLT. You can follow the link on their site to have your dog featured too. How fun is that! Maybe Moose’s cute face will get featured some day.

This is Hamilton. He’s an Australian Labradoodle and I’ve had the pleasure of photographing his smiling face several times in 2019.

His mom Lisa found me via #instagram and scheduled a session for him in April. All three of us hit it off and Lisa and I became friends. She signed him up for my sunflower sessions and when I needed a volunteer for my first ever Walk Around Town, they met me in NoDa. We’re even traveling together this year to the New York City Doodle Romp. How fun is that?

How lucky am I to get to photograph dogs and meet awesome dog moms and dads? It’s pretty awesome.

I recently learned something new from Lisa. Keep reading to find out and the link to his post on Dog CLT is below too.

Australian Labradoodles are a blend of labradors, poodles, English cocker spaniels, American cocker spaniels and Irish water dogs. I didn’t know the difference between an Australian Labradoodle and a Labradoodle until Lisa told me. It’d be interesting to know why these 5 breed combinations were chosen. I didn’t ask her but does anyone have that answer?

You can check out the write up on Hamilton on the Dog CLT site here. It’s worth the read… just to find out his nicknames. They’re awesome. Happy reading!
