Pets and People

The reason BARKography exists is because of my love for dogs.

In January, I was contacted by a local woman who was starting a service dog training program. This is a mother / daughter team that I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know over the last few months.

Our 52 week pet photography project this week is called Pets and People. I’m writing about working dogs but they are loved as pets that’s for sure.

This is Tess and her dog Lily. The 2nd photo is Tess with Lilly, 2 service dogs in training and her other dog Iris.

Recently I photographed a couple of their service dogs in training meeting their potential families. Seeing these dogs and knowing the amazing work they will do in their lifetimes was amazing.

The golden retriever is Holly and she will be graduating from training soon and will begin helping her US Veteran.

This dog is Molly and seeing her meet this man for the first time was heart warming. I’m not sure if they’ve made a decision yet on which dog they want but the bond between them was immediate.

I love photographing pets and people. Dogs are amazing and I feel privileged to get to photograph them.

This is a blog circle and next up is Colleen of Simply Col Photography - for the love of photography and pound pups. Be sure to click the link at the bottom of each post to see what the other photographers had to say about pets and people.
