Street: 52 Week Dog Photography Project - Week 35

Our 52 week dog photography project theme this week is street. Many of you know that I also have a dog walking business and when I saw this theme I immediately knew where I wanted to go. Several of my dog walking clients live in a gated community that is really pretty and I thought it would make a great backdrop for this week's theme. It's one road that's a circle with around 20 homes so there is never much traffic.

I knew I'd need an assistant so I contacted Kelly one of my faithful assistants and we planned to get together Wednesday night. Unfortunately around 10am on Wednesday, she texted me to say she was on her way to urgent care because she'd injured her foot. Turns out she broke it in 2 places. Bless her heart, I feel bad for her. On her 3rd day of her first year in high school, she is now on crutches. :(

It's been awhile since I've gone with Plan B but this week that's what I'm doing.

I had a photo session a few days ago with a guy I've known for years. We were accounting recruiters together. He got married earlier this year and he and his wife rescued a dog. Brett contacted me as soon as they adopted Cooper but they wanted to wait and work with him a bit before scheduling their session.

Cooper was a pro at our session. He was shy at first but then his puppy-like personality started to show through. The first two photos are examples of how most of the dogs I photograph as leashed up. Cooper was the entire session and in the first two photos are examples of how I edited Brett out of all of them.

We met at a park near their house where there are really wide bike trails. This is my street. It could actually pass for a road but in reality it is bike path.

This is a blog circle and next up is Linda Perdue with VP Shoots Photography serving Tampa and surrounding areas. Be sure to click the link at the bottom of each post to see what each photographer wrote about our theme "street" this week.
