Before & After: Pet Photography 52 Week Project | Week 5

Before & After is the topic for this week's Pet Photography 52 Week Project. We could do whatever we wanted to demonstrate this so I decided to go wayyyyy back. Back to 2010.

This past weekend I was pet sitting with 2 chihuahuas, George and Alex. They have the BEST dog bed ever. It's a boat. My goal was to try and get a photo of them (or one of them) in the boat. I couldn't believe my luck when they both crawled in it. I was able to grab my camera and move about 15' away from them and they both stayed put. I got 2 shots of them in the boat before Alex hopped out. They aren't perfect shots but since I got them both in the boat, I had to post the pic. If you look on the left side of the frame of the photo of them both in the boat, you can see the flag at the back of the boat. It really is the best dog bed ever!

The photo of the backside of Alex is generally my view of him when we are outside. He is always looking to see who might be walking by (i.e. who he needs to be barking at!)

I've known George and Alex for years. I used to walk them daily before their mom became a stay at home mom. (She has 3 boys now... 3!! Actually 5 if you include George and Alex and 6 if you include her hubby!) I still pet sit for them occasionally when their family goes out of town.  To say I LOVE the time I get to spend with them is an understatement.

I happened to think it might be interesting to go back and look at some really old photos that I have of these two and compare the before & after.

Before I got super busy with dog walking and before the days of texting, I would blog every day about my dog walking visits. I just went to my See Spot Run blog, typed in "George" and found an entry from March 30, 2010 that included these two photos. These may have been taken with an iphone or maybe even a blackberry.  (Now that I've typed that I can't even remember if that's what those phones were called. I had blackberries for lunch today so it's throwing me off! My first two hand held phones were blackberries and then I made the switch to the iphone.)

Photo taken in March 2010 when Alex was just a puppy. This is way before BARKography was ever even a thought.

Photo taken in March 2010 with my blackberry.

I am happy to be able to see the improvement in my photography skills since launching BARKography but I do love the photo of Alex when he was a puppy. I love the skinny body and huge head look! :)

This is a blog circle and next up is EVM Photography, located in the Yarra Valley, Melbourne. Keep clicking the links at the end of each post and you'll end up right back here.
